The mod functions perfectly fine without the DLC's, but keep in mind it was created and balanced with an entire playthrough of all Fallout content in mind. The following options during Installation are mandatory:

Besides, most mods require patching aynway. In order to perceive Horizon as it is intended, it is recommended to start without any other mods. ? Note: If loose files aren't enabled via INI edit, item tags will be visible in-game. Inject the following two values into the Fallout4Custom.ini to enable loose files: To allow mods to load their assets, like scripts, textures, loose files, ect. An incorrect Load Order can instantly destroy the Horizon experience. A Mod Manager like MO2 which does not overwrite the game folder is preferable.Horizon changes far too many things for an existing save to work. New game, using an existing save is not recommended.Horizon has its own Texture Pack which is far more optimized (details below). Exluding the High Resolution Texture Pack (DLC).

Clean install of vanilla Fallout 4 with all your DLC installed.the real issue is trying to fix the DM players who have 1000 rounds :) and what can't you do." otherwise the player reports become so skewed, because 1 person in default will say they have 2000 rounds of. I'm not going to balance around that my focus is on "what can you do with the supplies you get in DM. I really don't count default mode, because you can get ammo and shit so much easier. but I want the real balance focused around survival mode and DM. I can always add in non-DM stuff to help casual players if it is too hard. While 99% of my combat changes will effect default mode too, I want to balance the game around DM. Using other Mods that change gameplay stats may break or ruin the balance of this mod. But there are not neccessary as many people get by just fine without them.Horizon is a balancing mod. If you want to use those programs by all means. Every mod installed was done manually, no nmm, no loot. Loot is not an absolute must have, your brain and the ability to use it however is.įor example my skyrim data folder is just shy of 90Gb. The only reason you haven't had problems is you have just been lucky. There is not a single mod maker that does not recommend using loot.Įvery single mod reviewer will recommend using loot to sort their mods.īefore loot everyone used BOSS there has always been a Mod sorter of some kind used for these games.Īnd no the manager does not sort your mods or put them in any particular order. Load order is an absolute necessity to get mods to work properly. Still doesnt change the fact that incorrect order will break your game. I have managed mods manually since morrowind so i am my own load order manager. I wasnt arguing that loot was neccessary, its just easier for some. Depending on your mods, and nmm doesnt always catch mistakes. I have been modding beth games a very long time, trust me when i tell you load order matters. Just because one person downloading mods didnt run into load order conflict doesnt mean it doesnt exist. Never had a problem using NMM either and yes I have dealt with installing mods manually. If you are manually installing mods I guess I could see using it. 3/new vegas had a couple mods that did require moving them up in the mod order but it told you that and it was not exactly hard to click on an arrow in nmm.

In fallout 3 and new vegas had between 100 and 150 mods never had a problem that required a third party program. Not really I have never used a load order program on any fallout game and never once run into a mod problem. I have watched doing fresh installs of all mods and seems to work just fine.

When installing with NMM it just seems to put the order properly from each install.

Now I know certain mods request being at the top etc but never had any issue just randomly chaning load order just to see if it matters and never once had any conflict or problematic mods. Originally posted by Moldavia:Not sure why people need to use LOOT, or anything like it, since I doubt the game cares much about the order of mods.
